So I’m testing a move from Google Ads to Yahoo. I put ads on the articles I write and on a month-to-month basis it actually keeps me in video games – not bad for doing something I’d do anyway. YPN (formerly Overture) seems to be gaining in popularity versus Google in its beta test, and I’m certainly curious to see if it’s going to bring in more scratch. I’ll keep you posted.
This is old news, but people are making a lot of money w/ contextual ads – just prior to Weblog Inc.’s (natural) acquisition by AOL, Jason Calacanis reported that they were on track to break $1mil/year…hm!
Update! I’ve had Y!PN on for a few hours and it’s already clear that their contextual ads aren’t contextual enough…soooo I’m switching back to Google. I messed around with Chitika too, which I think is great in concept but doesn’t quite suit my needs.

I write screenplays, books and push software; I'm a collector and indoorsman. If you have a Masonic scepter or a copy of the Boyd Philadelphia Blue Book (any year), drop me a line.
