I’ve developed a small crush on Diana Eng even though she uses frames on her blog. I saw her work in I.D. magazine several months ago; she went to RISD and is very much a self-proclaimed nerd. The piece of clothing (or garment, as they say on the show) that propelled her from audition to contentant was a hoodie with a camera in the apex of the hood wired to a heartbeat monitor that TAKES PICTURES OF WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING AT WHEN YOU’RE EXCITED. At that moment, if I had been wearing the hoodie, it would have been taking a picture of Diana Eng. And she wore her high school prom dress to the in-episode party, which was an adorable move.

What a great show. I watched the fuck out of the first season - it’s a pleasure to see talented people doing something they love under pressure. Heidi Klum, pregnant, looks like an angel. It must be devastating for an angel to tell you your work blows. She’s way gentle most of the time (not like that bitchy Michael Kors!) but spunkier and more comfortable so far this season. The print ads for the show depict Heidi lording over the contestants in some fashion, with the slogan “They sew…she cuts.” I like the notion of Heidi Klum as Atropos - good casting.
