Anon: I understand your confusion about Goofus and Gallant - they're characters from a US-based children's magazine called Highlights For Kids, not a value judgement. As for DRM, I said "Companies would be within their rights to want DRM-protected files, but why not trust the people who are pelting you with money for your product." I'm not sure how you construe that as my supporting content management, but whatever. I wonder if you understand that the market for comics is way smaller than the market for music or movies - and if you don't support the creators and publishers, they'll have to respond by canceling titles or raising prices or both.

For everyone else: since I wrote this, I've come to think that the future of comics has to be wireless delivery to a theoretical color Kindle.

I find this article to be misleading. Digital comics have been here for over 9 years. Why would you suggest an I-Tunes clone and state that someone who doesn't pirate is gallant? It sounds like you have issues with pirating that outweigh the spread of ideas/content. You even support DRM, yet suggest letting users lend out files. Your hypocrisy makes me sick. Stop trying to be a good guy, and realize what's really important in the subject.

I don't know if anyone will actually read this, but a great place to get single issues and also get involved with the digital comics community is on IRC. I can recommend the place where I hang out which is #comic-scans on the Rizon network.
